HISTORIC REMODEL AND ADDITION
Healdsburg, California
This home located in the Dry Creek Valley was originally constructed
in 1865 according to photos in the Healdsburg Museum. Since that
time, though the original structure was largely in tact, multiple
additions, plan revisions and lack of maintenance obscured the
original design.
My clients purchased the home with the desire to renovate and
remodel the original home while restoring and respecting the
original architecture.
Though the original redwood structure was preserved, all other
aspects of the home were replaced including the foundation, roof,
siding, windows, interior finishes, etc. as well as mechanical
and electrical systems. A sunroom addition was added on the south
side, covered porches were added on the east and west and a garage
was added on the north side. All of the additions were added in
the style and character of the original design, carefully matching
the architectural details that remained. |
